Challenge Accounts

Lot Size Rule

  • There are no lot size limits during any phases of our programs. We do not add any extra limits on top of what the broker allows.

Standard and Rapid Simulated Funded Demo Accounts

The following details only apply to Standard and Rapid Simulated funded demo accounts with The Funded Trader.

Eightcap Lot Size Rule

  • If your Simulated funded account is on Eightcap, then the Simulated positions highlighted below are the maximum lot of exposure per instrument allowed open at any given time.

GER30 - 5 lots
FRA40 - 5 lots
EUSTX50 - 5 lots
JPN225 - 5 lots
AUS200 - 5 lots
UK100 - 5 lots
NDX100 - 5 lots
SPX500 - 5 lots
US30 - 5 lots

  • There are no lot size limits on FX pairs. Please note that the contract size on Eightcap is 10, which is higher than most other brokers. We encourage traders to compare against their broker(s) to improve risk management. This will ensure traders know what the actual lot size limit is based on the contract size they are used to trading.

  • If you have any trades simultaneously open that exceed the maximum lot exposure, you will be issued one warning with any simulated profits made deducted. Then, if you repeat this error, your Simulated account will be violated and breached.

Think Markets Lot Size Rule

  • If your Simulated funded demo account is on Think Markets, then the Simulated positions highlighted below are the maximum lot of exposure per instrument allowed open at any given time.

    GER30 - 5 lots
    FRA40 - 5 lots
    EUSTX50 - 5 lots
    JPN225 - 5 lots
    AUS200 - 5 lots
    UK100 - 5 lots
    NDX100 - 5 lots
    SPX500 - 5 lots
    US30 - 5 lots

  • There are no lot size limits on FX pairs. Please note that the contract size on Think Markets varies per asset.

Then, if you repeat this error, your account will be violated and breached.

Max Lot Exposure Rule Examples

Non-violation Examples

Example 1: For Eightcap or ThinkMarkets simulated funded demo accounts, if you open 5 trades for US30 with each of them being 1 lots (5 lots total), then you are staying within the maximum lot exposure.

Example 2: For Eightcap or ThinkMarkets simulated funded demo accounts, if you open 1 trade on GER30 at 5 lots, then open 1 trade on SPX500 at 5 lots, then you are still within the maximum lot exposure limits.

Example 3: For Eightcap or ThinkMarkets simulated funded demo accounts, if you open 3 trades on US30 at 1 lot each (3 lots total), then open another 3 trades on UK100 at 1 lot each (3 lots total), then you are still within the maximum lot exposure limits, as neither instruments surpassed the maximum exposure of 5 lots.

Violation Examples

Example 1: For Eightcap or ThinkMarkets simulated funded demo accounts, if you open 2 trades on GER30 with each of them being 3 lots (6 lots total), this will put you in a violation of the maximum lot exposure allowed.

Example 2: For Eightcap or ThinkMarkets simulated funded demo accounts, if you open 3 trades on NAS100 with each of them being 1 lots (3 lots total), then you open an additional 3 trades on AUS200 with each of them being 2 lots (6 lots total), this will put you in violation, as AUS200 has surpassed the maximum exposure of 5 lots.

Example 3: For Eightcap or ThinkMarkets simulated funded demo accounts, if you open 3 trades for NDX100 with each of them being 2 lots (6 lots total), then open an additional 3 trades on US30 with each of them being 2 lots (6 lots total) this will put you in a violation as both instruments have surpassed the maximum exposure of 5 lots.

Violation of the maximum lot exposure rule at any time, will result in simulated simulated profits being deducted, and a warning violation issued. Upon the second violation, the virtual account will be breached and any simulated profits forfeited. Simulated simulated profit deductions are processed on the following business day of the violation. In the event any deductions result in the breach of daily or maximum simulated loss limit, the trader is responsible for the violation.
